In July 2016, the Porta Rose Gallery of Garessio invites to the exhibition and performance by German Thomas Falk, within the art project “Annibalismo – Art on the way between the Alps and the Mediterranean” with a view to promoting ‘ hiking as a form of sustainable tourism through cross-border cooperation. If this summer you walk down the red or blue routes of the Via Alpina and encountered a red elephant, is not hallucination but an artistic project of Thomas Falk, artist and enthusiast of long trips traveling in northern Germany. During the period of the exhibition Thomas will start walking through a ring of about 300km route linking the Ligurian Alps with Italian and French Maritime Alps. his journey will be followed in real time through the photos that we Thomas send on the trip via social networks and projected in real time in the gallery. the project aims to promote and enhance a transnational route of vIA red ALPINA between Monaco (FR) and Garessio (IT). This route will be the object and subject of an artistic and relational exploration with the artist, with the intention of enhancing and promoting this Great Route to a wide audience. During the hike the Thomas Falk artist will present his film ‘Annibalismo along the Via Alpina “in different locations, rest stops, shelters, squares along the way.
