SELF – CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP for the RECOVERY of a CIABOT – with FERNANDO GALLO and MERLIN ZELDENTHUIS

Practical workshop for the recovery of a ciabòt. The ciabòt are small land units, scattered throughout the Alta Langa, whose use was linked to the activities of the fields.

The course aims to provide the notions on the construction techniques typical of these artifacts; it will rebuild the masonry in langa stone and mud mortar and the roof with chestnut wood substructure and the mantle in lose, flanked by local craftsmen.

2 modules of 6 days: 5 days of intensive work (theoretical lessons + practical realization) and 1 day of discovery of the territory of the Alta Langa through hiking and sightseeing activities.
