SELF – CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP with OFFICINA 82

Practical workshop for the realization of a wood platform for astronomical observation on the panoramic hill of the church of San Luigi Re di Francia.

The importance of the night and sky in the life of each individual is very relevant. It becomes more and more complex to find a piece of the world without any light source. Iconic and eloquent are the photographs captured by satellites or the panorama that appears under each of us on an evening flight. The rising glow allows us to clearly identify the main population centres and minor residential arteries.
Attention to the sky is a theme that affects more and more the community every day as well as being a question studied for some time by leading scientists.

Officina 82: Fabio Revetria and Lara Sappa founded Officina82 in 2007. From the beginning, they deal with integrated architecture and landscape projects and focus on interventions in historical and landscape contexts. They have done continuous research on historical, anthropological, landscape and aesthetic aspects. Officina82 is searching for Beauty, considered as the starting point and arrival of their design process. They continue this exploration by designing and setting up exhibitions and showrooms.

9 days of intensive work (theoretical lessons + practical realization) and 2 days of discovery of the territory of the Alta Langa through hiking and sightseeing activities.
