Via del Sale 2018 will be inaugurated Saturday, July 14 at 11 am at the Pieve di Cortemilia, site where Hilario Isola exhibits. 10th EDITION – 10 ARTISTS – 10 PLACES – Contemporary art itinerary along the Bormida, between Langhe and Monferrato, curated by Silvana Peira and Marco Enrico Giacomelli From the partnership between the French artist Jean Gaudaire-Thor, Silvana Peira, president of the association Fondaco di Bra and the well-known writer Nico Orengo, in 2002 the Via del Sale was born. After a few years of break the Via del Sale returns with the tenth strong edition of a formula tested in the field of territorial promotion but, at the same time, introduces an innovative character contained in the construction and use of the itinerary itself. in this new appointment, in fact, the boundaries widen. Along the axis of the Bormida di Millesimo you start from the Alta Langa in the province of Cuneo, cross the Langa Astigiana and end in the Alto Monferrato, along a remarkable part of the Unesco site “The wine landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato” , a cultural landscape that is the result of the combined action of man and nature: it is a re-reading that if on one hand is able to link the territory of the Bormida Valley with a common thread, on the other, compared to the past years , manages to capture and stimulate the possibilities to enjoy a naturalistic heritage that becomes a natural setting for all outdoor activities able to meet the needs of active tourism at all levels: from trekking trails, to Nordic walking, from mountain biking to pedal assisted bicycle Project of the association Il Fondaco, the tenth edition of the Via del Sale is one of the important events of the largest event enumerated “La Valle Bormida exposes”, a coordinated exhibition calendar promoted by the Fondazione Matrice Fondazione di Partecipazione and which represents an experimentation to respond to the endemic lack of production and promotion of culture in the most fragile areas or not completely involved in cultural circulation. With a total of 14 events, in the period June 2018-March 2019, “La Valle Bormida exposes itself” is configured as a cultural system of large area built with a shared method thanks to a collaboration agreement involving the Municipality of Bistagno (AL), the Municipality of Cassine (AL), the Municipality of Monastero Bormida (AT), the Municipality of Bergolo (CN), the Municipality of Levice (CN), the Municipality of Monesiglio (CN), the AssociazionePianpicollo Selvatico, the association I Cavalieri dell’Alta Langa and the cultural historical association Elisabeth De Rothschild and which is realized thanks to the precious contribution of the Piedmont Region. Via del Sale 2018 is realized thanks to the collaboration of Alba Bra Langhe and Roero ATL, ATL Alessandria and ATL Asti, and is organized in synergy with the International White Truffle Fair of Alba, an event that from year to year in addition to increasing its worldwide visibility is consolidating its relationship with the territory, the ACA – Associazione Commercianti Albesi, the Alta Langa Cultural Park, Circuito Turris, as local actors that will allow visitors a deepening on the existing territorial reality and on the historical aspects, cultural and tourism. Via del sale 2018, from July 14th to October 7th, winds its way through a 70km route and involves 10 artists in 10 locations:

These 10 places will be the theater not only for the installations of the selected artists but also for a series of appointments placed in the chosen exhibition venues. The various sites can be visited on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 7 pm and by appointment.
